I.D. type of fruit growing from rootstock of a grafted lemon?

When we had a hard freeze in south Texas, the main trunk of the citrus trees were killed. Suckers from the stump grew and produced similar appearing fruit. The locals call it "bitter orange" and apparently used as a root stock for grafting desirable cultivars of citrus trees.
