Should i ask someone else to the sadie hawkins?

I am a sopre girl in high school. There is a big formal Sadie Hawkins dance at my school called cotillion in February, and it’s a very big deal: we’ve already started making plans and buying our dresses and booking limos and stuff. I asked a guy that is my sort of friend, named Eddie. I don’t like Eddie, I like someone else, but I don’t know them very well, and Eddie is the guy I would feel most comfortable going with. Before a lot of stuff happened. He asked me out and apparently he liked me a lot, but I broke it off after two weeks because I haven’t ever kissed anyone and I wasn’t sure if he wanted me too, and I didn’t really like him. But now he’s being very mean and such and I’m wondering if I should ask someone else?? I don’t want to have made all these plans and have them go to waste by going with someone I will not have fun with. The guy I like is already taken but I have another good friend that I could ask who has been very nice lately, and i see him more than eddie...
