My cursor flies away when typing. Can anybody please help?

When I am typing my cursor frequently flies away to different locations of the typed text making it difficult to do any work. It happens mostly when I type a vowel or a y. I m worried my computer has developed a fault. It may be a virus!. Please tell me what it is and how can this problem be corrected. Thanks
